Friends of the Library
You can support the Pasadena Public Library System by joining The Friends of the Pasadena Public Library.
The Friends of the Library is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that raises money in support of library services. In addition, the Friends promote the interest and welfare of the Pasadena Public Library System and encourages all citizens of Pasadena to make use of the opportunities the Library offers.
What do I have to do to be a member?
Membership is simple. Just fill out an application and pay your dues. Applications are available at the Library’s customer service desks or online at the links above. Although the Friends do have several opportunities for volunteering your time, it is not required. Meeting attendance is also not required, but all members are welcome to attend.
Membership fees are annual and begin at $10.00 for individuals and $25.00 for families. Businesses may also join for as little as $100.00.
Where does your money go?
All proceeds from membership and other fundraising initiatives go towards library services. Types of services include:
- Funding prizes and performers for the Summer Reading Program

- Sponsored and supported the annual Poetry Contest
- Provided seed money for new services
- Allocated funds to buy needed equipment
- Promoted special exhibits and projects
Friends meet the third Thursday of each month at 3:30 p.m. at the Fairmont Library. Call 281-998-1095 for more information.
Attendance at meetings is not required to be a member of the Friends.
