Job and Business Resources
The Business Center of the Pasadena Public Library offers many services to businesses and patrons actively pursuing a career.
We offer basic and intermediate classes in how to use the computer and search the internet. In addition, we offer classes on Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as classes on Resume Writing. We also offer repeatable classes for both basic and intermediate learnings for MS Word and Excel.
Job Search Assistance
The library has often teamed up with the Texas Workforce Solutions to provide additional classes and assistance, including past programming and in-library counseling on resume building, networking, and job interview techniques and practice.
Our Business Center has 27 computers, as well as a laptop and projector system. We also provide copying, scanning, and faxing services.
With special approval, the business center is available to third party groups for business training purposes. For more information, please call (713)477-0276.
The Pasadena Public Library offers free proctoring services. The service is available to any patron with a current PPL card. The patron must make arrangements with the library staff prior to taking the test. Tests can be administered online, on paper, or using a computer to type your responses.
While there is no charge for this service, any postage fee for mailing back a test or test materials falls on the patron. Additional charges may apply for faxing services, if needed. Proctoring services are available during normal library hours. Tests should be able to be completed one hour before the library closes.
