Current Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are a vital part of the library team. Volunteers do a variety of tasks which volunteers perform that release the staff to assist library users. The best way to become a library volunteer is to call the Volunteer Pasadena Program which is a City of Pasadena program that matches citizens’ skills and energy with current needs in our city.
The first step for potential volunteers is to complete the Volunteer Application Forms. Upon review of the application and the passing of a background check, the Volunteer Pasadena Manager will contact the applicant regarding his/her interests and qualifications.
We will place you as soon as possible in a position which will best match your needs and our needs. There are short-term or long-term assignments available. Volunteer hours per week vary greatly according to the needs of the library an your available time.

City of Pasadena Public Library Board
The nine-member unpaid City of Pasadena Library Board is nominated and appointed by the Mayor of Pasadena and confirmed and approved by the City Council. Members serve for two year terms.
Friends of the Pasadena Public Library
The Friends enhance the public library system by funding programs, services, and publications. Membership is open to individuals, families, and corporations. Dues vary from $10 for annual individual membership to $25,000 for platinum lifetime members.
